The fruit of life in Christ is participation in the salvation of the whole world. The “missionary mandate” of Jesus before he ascended into heaven is given first to his apostles and more generally to each and every disciple. To be “disciple makers”, every Christian must turn to our Lord with trust and confidence, and in turn go out into the world to bring the good news of his kingdom of love.
- Have you ever taught someone about Christ?
- How would you describe your relationship with Christ? Is it loving, fruitful, consistent? Is it fear-based, dry, and inconsistent?
- Have you ever invited anyone to Mass? Why? How did you help them pray through it?
- Is God calling you to the priesthood or religious life, to share his kingdom full time?
“All the honey that can be gathered from the flowers of this world has less sweetness than the vinegar and gall of Jesus Christ our Lord.” -St. Ignatius of Loyola
