LESSON 3: “Follow Me”

To discuss the call of Matthew in light of his personal circumstance as an educated man; to look at the challenge of really following Jesus (being selfless); knowing that Jesus calls sinners ; personal conversion leads to clarity in discernment.

  • Who or what are great examples of selflessness you’ve experienced in your life?
  • In what ways do you willingly embrace self-denial? How has it affected you?
  • Sometimes we surround ourselves with friends who are not living a Christ-like life, or maybe you are guilty of this yourself. How do you turn away from this and remain a good presence to your friends who need good examples in their lives?
  • The way of death or the way of life were the words of the Catechism today, and so now we must ask ourselves: Do I want the way of death or the way of life?
